Members of the Merafong Retired Nurses Forum assisted various people during Mandela Day last month.
According to a member of this organisation, Maneo Kgojane, they worked hard to put smiles on the faces of some of the disadvantaged community members.

The retired nurses provided a helping hand to various people in need on July 17.

Although they are retired, the nurses are still very active and visited a Wedela old age facility, the Fochville old age home, the Welverdient old age home, the Rudo Centre in Kokosi, and the Rotalia home for disabled people in Carletonville.

They talked to the various residents, played with them, and also gave them meals.

“We also discovered a lot of challenges and invite our community leaders to make a turn at these places and see where and how they can assist,” says Kgojane.

She added that the retired nurses are not tired of lending a helping hand and will continue doing so in the future.
