Ruhan Pretorius to be sentenced for Fochville murder of Natasha Wheeler Barnard

Pretorius was found guilty of murder following the fatal 2022 assault at The Boulevard pub in Fochville.

Rudolph ‘Ruhan’ Pretorius will only hear his sentence for the murder of Natasha Wheeler Barnard later this month.

Pretorius, who is now in his mid-20s, appeared in the Fochville Regional Court before Magistrate Fatima Khan on July 21.

He was found guilty of murder.

He appeared in the same court on August 21.

The case had to be postponed, however, because his correctional report was still being completed.

He will appear in court again on September 17, when his case is expected to be handed down.

The case stems from an incident at The Boulevard pub in Fochville in March 2022.

During the shocking crime, Barnard (33) was severely assaulted and later died from her head injuries.
The pub has since closed its doors.

Pretorius was the only remaining accused in the case after the charges against the other original suspects were withdrawn.
