Carletonville detectives have arrested three men following a murder and a serious assault in the town this week.

Police arrested the three suspects, two of whom are in their 30s and one in his mid-20s, following an incident on September 26.

According to available information, two men robbed a man of his money and cellphone near the Red Cap Bottle Store at the Carletonville Taxi Rank at around 22:00.

The owner of the stolen phone and his friends chased after the robbers and caught up with them in Uranium Street.

They beat one of the alleged robbers to death, while his accomplice was rushed to the Carletonville Hospital suffering from serious head injuries.
