Five struck by gunfire in Fochville area

The victims were taken to Carletonville Hospital.

Fochville Police are investigating cases of attempted murder after a shooting in the Mphahla Village informal housing area near East Driefontein this week.

The incident occurred on September 25 at 20:00 when a group of residents was relaxing inside a fast-food business and tuck shop.

An unknown man suddenly walked into the premises and started shooting at the people inside.

Five individuals, consisting of two men and three women aged between 21 and 38, were struck by the gunfire.

Bystanders quickly rushed the wounded victims to Carletonville Hospital for medical treatment.

Police report that the gunman managed to flee the scene and remained on the loose as the newspaper went to print.
