Girl (13) raped in Fochville area

Police are still searching for the suspect.

Police are looking for a man following the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in the Fochville area.

The incident occurred on September 21.

According to reports, the teenager left her home in the Mphahla Village informal housing area near East Driefontein at 21:00 following an argument with her mother.

She went to seek out a local man in his 20s whom she already knew and who lived nearby.

While she was at his home, the man allegedly attacked and raped her.

The young girl returned home the following morning and immediately reported the incident to her mother.

The police’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit has launched an official investigation into the case.
