Passionate Carletonville photographer

He has since worked on various projects.

A passionate photographer from Carletonville, Gomolemo “Geeno” Modise, has been making a name for himself in the
Merafong area.

He mentioned that he began his journey in North West and moved to Carletonville in 2013 where continued with his studies.

Growing up, he was exposed to cameras because of his father who is still a photographer and he played with toy cameras as a child because he was breaking his father’s equipment.

After completing his studies at Westcol he decided to take photography seriously during the pandemic. He also ventured into podcasting as well as recording mixtapes with a friend where he was the camera operator.

Through the projects they began to explore the camera further as they would take pictures almost daily and they also learned how to use editing software. They then decided to create their own employment by offering their services and it has become
a livelihood.

“I experienced growth throughout the years,’’ he says.

He shoots at different social occasions such as parties and weddings although growing up he had never thought he would become a professional photographer as he initially dreamt of being popular DJ.

“You can’t predict life because it has a way of leading one to an unexpected path and I realized that this photography thing is in my blood but I’m learning everyday as technology continues to advance,’’ he concluded.

Gomolemo is now dedicated to photography as it is all he thinks about and he aims to build a production company in the near future.
