A duo of armed robbers struck a home in Carletonville last weekend.

This crime took place just after midnight on the morning of October 24.

The resident (48) was asleep in his home in Kaolin Street when he was woken up by a loud noise at 00:05. He got up and went to check what was going on.

Unfortunately, he came face to face with two armed robbers, one of whom wielded a firearm.

The resident ran back to his room and locked the bedroom door.

One of the thugs fired a shot, which luckily only hit the bedroom door. They then ran away.

The police later determined that the attackers gained access by forcing the front door open.

Only a school bag was stolen.
