House robbers strike in Talc Street in Carletonville

They gained entry by breaking the door open.

A woman living on Talc Street in Carletonville had a harrowing experience this week.

The woman (24) was asleep in her home on October 27.

She woke up at about 00:30 to two masked men in her room.

The thugs, armed and speaking Sesotho, asked her where her husband was.

When she told them that she did not have a husband, the thugs demanded money. They then grabbed the woman’s handbag as well as her cellphone, which was next to her bed.

One of the men then grabbed the woman and forced her outside.

Luckily, her landlord saw what was happening and called for help. The thugs fired several shots, but the woman managed to run away and hide.

The robbers then ran away.

Police later determined that the thugs had gained entry to her room by breaking the door open.
