A Blyvoor resident was murdered in the back room where he lived in the former mining town this week.

As far as could be determined, residents of 19th Avenue heard shots fired at about 22:00 on Sunday, 10 March.

When they went to check the following morning, they found blood stains outside the home. The trail led to the back room where Malepa Mkwibili (32) had been living.

They found him dead in the room, with gunshot wounds to his head and body.

The Carletonville police are investigating a murder case.
