Potholes reign supreme in South

If the job was done properly the first time it would save JRA money in the long run!

GLENVISTA – As the rainy season is upon us so previous potholes which have been filled, are gouged out by heavy rain showers and motorists have to swerve to avoid deep holes in roads.

“The question which must be raised is why JRA’s workforce don’t do a proper job in the first place, which would alleviate potholes having to be filled every few months?” asks a concerned resident. “All that happens is a truck pulls up with a few workers, they proceed to shovel a gravel mixture into the pothole and cover it with tarmac. Obviously this isn’t the correct way to do the job or else it would last a lot longer than it does. The first heavy rain we get removes the tarmac and the filling inside the holes. It would make much better sense to do the job properly and save JRA money in the long run,” he said.

The potholes have been filled again. How long will they remain like this?

A CHRONICLE reporter took a drive around the South on Thursday January 16 recording some of the huge potholes. On Sunday January 19 she noticed some of the potholes had been filled with a filling and tarmac. How long will the holes stay filled?
JRA have been contacted for comment.
