Brown Bag, not your conventional fast food
Internationally, eating out has become a health risk.
At the helm of Brown Bag are Michelin trained dynamic duo of 23-year-old chefs Nicole Francis and Ryan Chinnappen from Ridgeway.
They promises to bring a solution for ordering gourmet fast food in the comfort of your own home or office with their new venture. Internationally, eating out has become a health risk.
“Our business is a trendy and community-driven fast food venture that has been born from our extensive experience in some of the best kitchens in the world,” said Ryan.
“With the current state of our industry, this venture will allow the social dilemma that South Africans are facing to be tackled, where they would be able to experience something that distracts them from the hardships of our situation.
”Everyone is affected, including our careers from being able to work in prestige kitchens such as Jordnaer (two Michelin stars) and AOC (two Michelin stars) to being forced to stop our ever-growing experience.”
Teaming up
These chefs met at and graduated from an international hotel school top of their classes and both competed in national and international competitions, such as World Skills, Hans Beushkens Young Chef of the Year, Young Chef of the Year and African Culinary Cup.
They were fortunate enough to work in top kitchens in Johannesburg, such as African Pride Melrose Arch, The Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton, Hyatt Regency and The Westcliff, then moving towards the Middle East to the first floating and prestige hotel Queen Elizabeth 2, where it hosted the likes of Nelson Mandela, The Queen and Sir Elton John, and ultimately Europe at the 2 Michelin Star kitchens of AOC and Jordner.
It is exciting to see what this fine-dining duo can bring to the fast food scene in Johannesburg.
