ActionSA President Herman Mashaba, accompanied by former Ward 23 councillor Sarah Wissler, took a morning out to honour frontline workers on February 21.
Through the campaign themed #ThankOurHeroes, they paid workers of Netcare Mulbarton Hospital a visit in appreciation for their tireless service to the community.
Workers at the hospital were glad to also receive a certificate of appreciation for the love they put into their work.
The #ThankOurHeroes campaign aims to recognise all frontline workers that include doctors, nurses, ground staff, funeral parlour administrators and pallbearers as well as taxi drivers, security guards and petrol attendants.

According to Lerato Ngobeni of ActionSA, they are still to visit various sites to thank frontline workers for their dedication and commitment.
Ngobeni said the campaign will be carried out countrywide until they beat the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
Mashaba said: “This campaign focuses on making South Africans aware of the role played by our frontline workers in this country. We believe that we owe it to them, these are people who daily leave their homes to do this dangerous but necessary job of protecting us.”
Sarah Wissler, who recently joined ActionSA, said she felt it was important that they acknowledge the work done by these workers in the community.
“I have been running this campaign with Netcare Mulbarton Hospital for several weeks now and this is something that is very dear to me. We have lost several of our frontline workers at this hospital already to Covid-19. I’m glad that we have decided to champion this as ActionSA,” she said.
Wissler assured the COMARO that they are going to continue to run this campaign throughout the country.
