#IMadeMyMark: Covid-19 protocols in place for election day

The IEC says masks will be mandatory and voters should keep a distance of 1.5 m from fellow voters.

The IEC says Covid protocols will be in place when South Africans vote in the Local Government Elections today (Monday).

They have urged voters to bring their own pens, although a pen will be available in every booth that will be sanitised after every vote.

Voters’ hands will also be sanitised on entering and exiting the voting station.

When inking your thumbnail, officials will check that your hands are dry before applying the ink and you will be asked to wait a few moments before your hands will be sanitised again.
