Nceba wants every community to have a spirit of Ubuntu

Seven families benefited from Nceba’s initiative.

Nceba Ndube, Ward 119 committee member for public safety and deputy chairperson of Naturena Crime Forum, which falls under the CPF, initiated adopt-a-family last month.

He believed that if you could fight hunger, you have fought the possibility of criminal activities.

He said hunger can drive someone to commit a crime to feed his family.

Nceba has spearheaded an idea for the community of Ward 119 (Naturena, Freedom Park, Slovo Park and Fun Valley) to identify families that are having it difficult and contribute towards buying them something to eat.

“Seven families were identified and received food parcels. This initiative is planned to become an ongoing culture of the community of Ward 119 and hopefully be adopted by every community around South Africa.

“Let’s bring back the spirit of ubuntu. Have you thought of your neighbour when you sit and dine with your family? Do you know if they have eaten?

Boccia champion Lefi Kgosimolao from Freedom Park Ext 35 with Nceba Ndube received his food parcels.

“Remember our Boccia champion Lefi Kgosimolao, living with a disability, that received a wheelchair and a donation from me to go to the championship in the Eastern Cape? He was again one of the recipients of the food parcels,” he said.
