Local wrestlers return from tournament with several medals

Alberton Wrestling Club wrestlers took part in the Jacques Rossouw Wrestling (JRW) tournament at Gauteng North Wrestling Hall on June 10.

Ten wrestlers from Alberton Wrestling Club competed at the JRW tournament and all the wrestlers obtained medals in their different categories.

They bagged seven medals. About 220 wrestlers entered the tournament from across Gauteng, Free State, Mpumalanga and North West.

Katrien Havenga and Nico Potgieter from the club won gold.

Bringing home silver medals were Pieter Labuschagne, Juan Janse van Rensburg and Christiaan Havenga.
Bokkie Bokhorst and Nico Potgieter secured bronze medals.
