WATCH: Local firefighters visit school to teach fire safety

Fire department visits Gold Reef Private School.

Learners from Gold Reef Private School had a thrilling day recently when the local fire department dropped in with all of the lights, bells and whistles.

Firefighters educated the learners about fire safety and hazards. A fire drill and up-close look at the trucks and equipment rounded out the presentation.

They talked about safe ways to exit burning buildings, how to properly call a dispatcher and numerous other fire prevention routines they can practice on their own.

They urged the students to stop, drop and roll if their clothes are on fire.

Together the learners and firefighters danced and sang. It was an enjoyable day for everyone.

The school thanked the local fire department for taking time out of their busy schedules to pay them a visit.
