The Miss Earth South Africa Leadership and Empowerment Programme, now in its 21st year, stands as proof to empowerment and growth for young women.
Brick by brick, tree by tree, this programme has nurtured and mentored hundreds of individuals, shaping them into impactful leaders.
Ella Bella, national director of Miss Earth South Africa, stated that one who learns must educate others, and those who receive must give back.
“We ask our young women to go out and pay it forward. That is how we change the world. This is our objective for our 21st year.
“Beyond titles and competitions, the programme focuses on personal growth, learning, and understanding the pressing climate challenges facing our world.
“Joining this movement means becoming part of a supportive sisterhood dedicated to making a difference.
Participants gain insights into environmental issues, learn to be active citizens, and realize their potential to effect change. The aim is to instill a sense of responsibility towards people and the planet, fostering a lifelong commitment to community and environmental stewardship,” said Bella.

If you are a South African woman aged 18-26, you are eligible to apply for the Miss Earth South Africa Leadership and Empowerment Programme for 2024.
Applications close on April 15, with the annual announcement hosted by Southern Sun in September 2024.
