NPO hosts Easter egg hunt in South Hills

The children were all smiles as they enjoyed their Easter afternoon.

The Love from Above (LFA) NPO hosted an Easter egg hunt for children in the local community, creating an experience filled with treats, treasures, and laughter.

Held at the South Rand Recreation Centre this past weekend, the event was a resounding success, bringing children together for an afternoon of festive fun. Organised by volunteers from the LFA, the egg hunt was more than just a search for hidden treasures, it was a celebration of joy and togetherness.

Children eagerly gathered, their eyes sparkling with excitement, as they awaited the signal to begin their quest. As the whistle blew, children dashed off in every direction, scouring the area for hidden goodies.

There were freshly baked hot cross buns for the children.

Among the treasures waiting to be discovered were marshmallow eggs, chocolate bunnies, toys, biscuits, sweets, and more – a delightful assortment that delighted children of all ages.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the children enjoyed baked hot cross buns courtesy of the thoughtful donors. Children gathered to enjoy these treats, savouring the flavours of Easter while basking in the joy of the occasion.
The children spent the afternoon hunting for eggs, sharing stories, and making new friends.

The event was an opportunity for the kids of the community to forge connections, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie.

The little ones were excited about the treasures they found.

For the LFA, the Easter egg hunt’s success was a testament to the power of community and the joy of giving back.

“We are thrilled to have been able to host this wonderful event for the community. Events like these remind us of the importance of coming together and spreading joy, especially during special occasions like Easter.

“As kids bid farewell to another unforgettable Easter egg hunt, they looked forward to future events hosted by the Love from Above NPO, knowing that more joyous celebrations await in the months ahead,” highlighted LFA managing director Termayne Sivpersad.
