Kibler Park residents lend a hand to clean up

Kibler Park residents encourage residents all over Johannesburg south to start cleaning their communities.

Residents of Kibler Park rose to the occasion and created their own clean-up campaign on April 20.

The community strives to live in a clean environment as they believe dirty environments attract crime and come with numerous health risks.

Community activist and estate agent Trevor Sturgess highlighted: “These clean-ups are important because cleanliness and better business go together as it pushes away crime.

The state of the park before the community stepped in to clean it up.

“As members of SOJO Business and Tourism, it is important to have the same philosophy about reducing ‘crime and grime’ in Johannesburg south.”

Ward councillor Matsobane Sekhu emphasised: “This is just one of the clean-up operations we had in the ward. We have been struggling to get the City of Johannesburg entities to do what needs to be done.

“The community has responded to the call and where we can, we will do our part. We also have been blessed to receive support from local businesses such SOJO, Premium Spices, War Security, Seeff, Alveda/Kibler Park services and Astron Kibler Park. We held similar clean-up campaigns in Nasrec, Meredale with the forum and another in Alveda Park.”

Residents get their hands dirty during the clean-up.

The residents of Kibler Park will keep encouraging the community and local businesses to continue with these kinds of projects.
