Waterstone celebrates skilled netball player

Waterstone College is proud of the young netball player's achievement.

A Grade Seven learner at Waterstone College, Ripfumelo Mkhabele has been crowned Primary School Netball Player of the Year at the Gauteng schools’ netball awards ceremony for 2024.

Ripfumelo, accompanied by her proud parents, attended the annual awards dinner, where she received this recognition.

Ripfumelo spoke about her netball journey.

“I’ve been playing netball since Grade Three. There’s been a lot of ups and downs, such as when I could not be selected for the 2023 netball team as I had to attend my late grandfather’s funeral. I vowed to make it on the netball team and reach my full potential. I can finally say that I have accomplished that as well as gaining an academic scholarship. I thank my Grade Three coach, Miss Wagner, my family, friends and especially my grandfather,” said Ripfumelo.
