Eikenhof gas explosion will be investigated
There was an explosion and resulting blaze at the second-hand shop that stores gas.
One person was burnt and taken to hospital by a person who arrived on the scene at 2 Tes hardware and second-hand store in Eikenhof, where gas exploded on September 20.
The Kibler Park Fire Station dispatched a truck to the main service road behind the Lido Hotel, where the plot is situated. The explosion came from gas canisters stored in a makeshift garage in the back of the premises.
The exact cause of the explosion is not yet known.
The Kibler Park Fire Station will do an investigation because the property owner has yet to be located.
The Kibler Park Fire Station station commander, John Ndaba, spoke about the explosion.
“The explosion was gas-related, but the cause is unknown. We are trying to locate the owner of the plot and store. Currently, this case is under investigation, and the station has no further comment,” said Ndaba.
