Get ready to be part of history at Rocking the Vaal 2025

Rocking the Vaal is breaking records, uniting communities and putting the Vaal on the map.

The Vaal Triangle is gearing up for one of the biggest events of the year – Rocking the Vaal 2025 – on March 29.

This is a festival that promises to set new world records, ignite local pride and unite people from all walks of life in a celebration of community and culture. Artists such as BlackByrd, Droomsindroom, Piesangskille, Appel and many more will also be in action in a once-in-a-lifetime production produced for this event.

Following the massive success of last year’s event, which brought thousands of people together at Emerald Resort and Casino to smash two Guinness World Records, one for the largest potjiekos stew and a second for the world’s longest crocheted scarf, Rocking the Vaal is back with an even bolder ambition.

Teamwork makes the dream work. The whole community came together to make the World Records achievement a reality.

In 2025, the spotlight is on a daring attempt to create the world’s longest sosatie – an exciting moment that is sure to capture international attention while giving locals another reason to celebrate their unique heritage.

Rocking the Vaal isn’t only about record-breaking and showcasing some of SA’s biggest stars on stage, it’s about heart.

Last year, the festival warmed 35 000 people with the scarf, fed thousands in need with the potjie and showcased the incredible unity and spirit of the Vaal. With over 450 000 online engagements and widespread media coverage, the event cemented its reputation as a must-attend highlight on the South African calendar.

The community all came together and made potjies to be part of the world record.

“This year, festival-goers can look forward to electrifying performances by top South African artists, family-friendly entertainment, and food and drink options. And with amazing sponsors and media partners, Rocking the Vaal 2025 will reach even greater heights, offering unmatched exposure for sponsors and partners,” said president of Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce (GTCOC), Jaco Verwey.

Proceeds will once again go toward uplifting the Vaal Triangle community, ensuring that the event leaves a lasting legacy. Sponsors will not only be part of breaking records but also part of making a real difference.

Their involvement brings significant opportunities for brand activation, on-site visibility, and direct community engagement.

“Rocking the Vaal is about more than records. It’s about connection, hope, and showcasing the incredible potential of our region,” said Verwey.

“We’re inviting everyone – residents, businesses, and visitors – to join us in this journey and help us put the Vaal on the world stage.”
