Neglected space spruced up by Kibler Park community

Volunteers are welcome in joining Mondeor Sector 3.

Ward 125 Matsobane Sekhu sent a big thank you to the community who came together to assist with the clean-up of the Post Office and the open property next door in Kibler Park on March 22.

He said the effort was a success, and their involvement truly made a difference. These properties are owned by the City of Johannesburg Property Company, which has unfortunately been neglecting their maintenance.

Every year, the community steps up to clean these areas, not just for appearance’s sake, but because the overgrown vegetation has been used by criminals as cover to break into nearby homes.

“The properties will be used as our CPF offices. This clean-up is just one of many efforts we’ve made to ensure our area stays safe and well-maintained.

“We would like to give special thanks to Legend Diesel for their support with grass-cutting machinery and manpower, as well as Astron (Caltex) Kibler Park Filling Station for generously donating petrol to keep the machines running.

“The CPF deserves all the support for their dedication and efforts, as evidenced by their involvement in this clean-up campaign. They are often the first to arrive at emergency scenes, and their ongoing commitment to our safety is commendable.

“Additionally, the event served as an opportunity to recruit new members for Mondeor Sector 3. We’re excited to welcome nine new members to the CPF. Thank you once again to everyone involved for making this clean-up a success. Let’s continue working together to keep our community safe and thriving,” he said.
