Johannesburg Society for the Blind receives food donation

Almost 100kg of meat was donated to help the society’s needy residents.

The Sharing Kindness Foundation (SKF) and The Directorate Enforcing Elder Persons Rights (DEOPR) gathered enough food for the Johannesburg Society for the Blind (JSFTB) as the latter continues to endure financial problems.

On May 6, the SKF dropped off at least 100kg of meat and other food at the DEOPR Caring Facility in The Hill.

The facility will keep the food in its refrigerators because the JSFTB has no way of storing it, as they still have no electricity. The DEOPR will deliver the food to the JSFTB daily.

The JSFTB welcomed this service as they seemed out of options.

The food supply should last about two months.
