Alinda Ngwenya (11) shines as pageant queen and charity founder
Joburg South learner making waves in fashion and philanthropy, using her pageant titles to uplift underprivileged children across Johannesburg.
At just 11 years old, Alinda Ngwenya, a Grade Six learner at WH Coetzer Primary School, is proving that age is no barrier to making a difference.
A rising star in South African pageantry and fashion, Alinda is not only a multi-titleholder but also the proud founder of her own charity initiative, Sharing Smiles with Alinda.
Her foundation is dedicated to bringing joy and support to underprivileged children. Through her work, she has already made a powerful impact on organisations like Nali Mbali Daycare Center, Rosettenville Baby Home, House Cosmos Children’s Home, and South Side Stormers Basketball Club by providing donations and encouragement.
Alinda’s pageant journey began in 2024 when she was crowned Miss Turffontein Queen. That victory led to further successes: Junior Little Miss Empower South Africa 2025 and Miss Pre-Teen Provincial South Africa 2025.

She is now a finalist for Miss Teen Excellency South Africa and Miss Sparkle South Africa, with the chance to represent South Africa internationally if she wins.
In addition to her titles, Alinda has earned awards for Best Walk, Best Dressed, Overall Stage Performance, Influential Model, Role Model of the Year, and Public Choice.
On the runway, she continues to shine, having featured in high-profile shows like Fashion Without Borders and Walking Elegance. She has walked for top designers including Enhle Babes Couture and Leicco Designs.
Her next appearance will be at the Winter Wonderland Fashion Extravaganza, hosted by Hollywood Costumes South Africa and Heidi Couture, with special hosts Somizi and Lizz Meiring at Tarlton Gardens.
Alinda Ngwenya is more than just a young model; she is a changemaker, role model, and a girl with big dreams and an even bigger heart.
