No major damage reported after fire breaks out at SAB premises in Johannesburg.
The City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) has confirmed that the fire, which broke out on June 26 at the outdoor crate storage area of the South African Breweries (SAB) depot on Baragwanath Road, has been successfully contained.

No casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
Thanks to the swift and effective response of EMS firefighting crews, the main structure on the premises was not affected.

“We commend the bravery and professionalism of our firefighters, who worked tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other areas of the premises,” said Xolile Khumalo, media liaison officer for the City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services.
“Their efforts have ensured that the damage is minimal, and we can breathe a sigh of relief that no one was hurt,” he continued.

Firefighting crews remain on scene, conducting salvage and damping down operations to ensure that there are no flare-ups and that the area is fully secured.
The City of Johannesburg EMS is working closely with SAB officials to investigate the cause of the fire and to assess the damage.
