Local organisations rally community to help abandoned babies

Door of Hope urgently needs essentials like diapers, formula, hygiene products and more.

Two community-driven organisations, Free Chapel Church and Women Rocking, are urging residents of Alberton and surrounding areas to join their donation drive in support of Door of Hope.

Door of Hope is a non-profit organisation that rescues and cares for abandoned, orphaned, and abused babies.

“We want to make a difference and would appreciate it if the community could help us with the donations,” said Dorene van Tonder of Free Chapel Church.

Door of Hope operates a baby home in Glenvista, sheltering between 58 and 72 babies aged 0 to 6 years.

With adoptions declining and child abandonment on the rise, the need for supplies is urgent.
