Rand Water maintenance update: Alternative water supply locations announced
As the O₂ pipeline repairs impact the South Hills reservoir, Johannesburg residents are urged to collect water from designated supply points across affected wards.
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) has announced alternative water supply locations for residents impacted by ongoing maintenance on the Palmiet system, which will in turn affect the South Hills reservoir.
The maintenance has impacted the O2 water supply pipeline and left many residents without clean drinking water.
As work is expected to continue for several days, the city has provided a list of locations where residents can access alternative water supplies, including:
• Ward 56 – Johannesburg CBD: Corner Elizabeth and Augusta; Corner Retha and Prince Albert; Corner East Street and Johan Meyer
• Ward 57 – Johannesburg South: Corner Naphin Street; Corner Geneva Road and Estantia Avenue
• Ward 61 – Johannesburg CBD: Jeppe Hostel; Bertha Solomon Recreation Centre; Jeppe Park
• Ward 65 – Johannesburg CBD: George Goch Hostel; Denver Secondary School; Corner Mars and Focus; Cleveland Police Station.
