Moti Cares Foundation brings warmth to vulnerable communities

“We can't control the weather, but we can change how it feels for someone who has nothing to keep them warm,” said Zunaid Moti, founder of Moti Cares.

The Moti Cares Foundation has continued its mission to bring warmth and dignity to vulnerable communities, distributing 2 700 blankets, 2 300 loaves of bread, and 700 sweet packs to families and residents in Turffontein during July.

This activation is part of the foundation’s flagship initiative, the Moti Cares Winter Drive, which aims to donate 20 000 blankets to vulnerable communities across South Africa by the end of August.

In addition to the main handover, 210 blankets were set aside to support flood victims in the Eastern Cape, where many families are still recovering from the devastation caused by heavy rains earlier this year.

The foundation also extended its outreach to the Impilo child centre, delivering blankets to help keep vulnerable children and infants warm through winter.

“We can’t control the weather, but we can change how it feels for someone who has nothing to keep them warm,” said Zunaid Moti, founder of Moti Cares.

“This winter drive is our way of standing shoulder to shoulder with people to say: you are valued, you are worthy, and your struggle is not invisible.”

The Moti Cares Foundation has already brought relief to community members in several areas, including Katlehong, Langlaagte, Newclare, Westbury, Soweto and Turffontein, as the campaign continues to expand its reach across Gauteng and beyond.
