Cotlands transforms classrooms with corporate kindness
Cotlands teamed up with passionate corporates to breathe new life into early learning environments.
Cotlands closed their latest volunteer campaign on a high note with paint-splattered hands, brighter play spaces and hearts full of gratitude.
This year’s Play it Forward initiative brought together passionate corporate volunteers from Isanti Glass and Naked Insurance, who rolled up their sleeves and transformed ordinary areas into playful havens for children.
From painting interior walls and refurbishing jungle gyms and see-saws to planting a vegetable garden where rubble once stood, these teams brought life, colour and joy to Cotlands’ early learning spaces.

The impact didn’t stop there. Volunteers joined forces with toy librarians to sort educational toys, paint colourful wooden blocks and revitalise playrooms. Their efforts proved that small acts of care can create more engaging play experiences for young children.
Liezel Swiegers from Naked Insurance shared: “We are hoping that when the kids come back to a freshly painted, clean classroom, they can enjoy the learning even more. Things like a colourful play block can stimulate their learning and motivate them.”

Cotlands also extended a thank you to Promac Paints for their generous donation of interior wall paint, brushes and supplies, which added brightness and vibrancy to the play space.
Natalie Frank from Cotlands said: “These incredible teams transformed our play environments into more colourful and stimulating spaces, making them more inviting and inspiring for little learners.”

Acting CEO of Cotlands, Nozizwe Dladla-Qwabe, added: “We are deeply inspired by the spirit of generosity shown throughout this campaign. We invite other corporates to follow the lead of our incredible partners and help us expand our impact. There are many ways to get involved. Donate items from our wish list, sponsor our playgroup and toy library programmes or make a direct donation. Every bit helps.”
Early learning is the foundation for a brighter South Africa. Every young child in the country deserves access to quality early childhood development. When the community unites for a common cause, collective efforts reach further, impacting more children and creating lasting change.

Cotlands encourages the community to keep playing it forward and ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
