Empowering women: Rewlatch Primary School hosts uplifting event
Inspiring conversations and connections for women, by women.
Rewlatch Primary School in Johannesburg hosted a powerful women’s empowerment event on August 8, drawing women from across Joburg South and beyond to celebrate strength, resilience, and shared experiences.
The event featured a panel discussion with influential women – including teachers, principals, and political figures – who spoke about the evolving role of women in society.
Principal Arleen Steyn emphasised the importance of creating spaces where women can support one another.

“As women, we must uplift one another, inspire one another, and teach one another how to grow – both as individuals and collectively. I am so happy that Rewlatch Primary could host an event of this significance,” she said.
Under Steyn’s leadership, the school has shown a strong commitment to fostering inclusivity and mutual support.
The MEC for Social Development in Gauteng, Faith Mazibuko, also attended, sharing her own journey in leadership.

“I want women to feel powerful, because they are. Holding a position like MEC has been a privilege, and I have used my position to empower and inspire other women. This event is a testament to our influence as females,” she said.
With its heartfelt discussions and uplifting atmosphere, the event gave women a platform to connect, share stories, and motivate one another.
The day ended on a high note – leaving attendees energised, inspired, and proud of their collective power.
