Joy, learning and laughter at the Jesu O Bitsa Bana Jackson Holiday Kids Camp

The annual holiday camp once again brought smiles to children in Jackson Settlement, with fun activities, creative crafts, animal education, and heartfelt community support making it a memorable week.

The Jesu O Bitsa Bana Jackson Holiday Kids Camp proved to be a huge success again.

Despite being hot and dry, lots of hugs and greetings awaited as the children ran towards the bakkie they called Michellie Michellie when the organisers made their way into the settlement.

Days were filled with fun and activities. The children planted seedlings, learnt about how to treat animals, and not to fear dogs.

“Other activities included lots of drawings, and we can see an improvement in their drawings. Some are so wonderful and insightful about the stories told,” Michelle Rawbone said.

“To AT Nursery, who donated swiss chard and leeks, petunias and strawberry seedlings, and Eye of Africa, who sponsored the plumbing, we say a huge thank you,” said Rawbone.

Children made fish and birds out of toilet rolls, which they proudly showed off.

“We praise the Lord for the donation of food for the children, and we thank the cooks, Gogo, Paulina, and Palesa, the teachers Rencia and Michelle,” Rawbone said.
