SOJO Helping Hands Foundation opens its doors to sustainable farming

Experience fresh, organic produce at SOJO's community farm in the south of Johannesburg.

The SOJO Helping Hands Foundation is inviting schools to book their community farm tour at the SOJO Community Farm, Reshaven Ministries, 10 North Road, Townsview.

This unique educational experience gives learners the opportunity to discover sustainable farming practices and explore the wide variety of fresh, organic produce grown on the farm.

The farm has three interactive zones:

• Zone 1 (the island): Features crops such as rocket, sweet potatoes, and aloe.

• Zone 2 (curved rows): Showcases beetroot, cilantro, and other vibrant vegetables.

• Zone 3 (shade net): Features carrots, tomatoes, and fragrant herbs like oregano and mint.

Visitors can look forward to an immersive experience, learning about composting, land preparation, and the principles of sustainable agriculture.

“We welcome schools to book school tours and experience the joy of growing and harvesting fresh produce,” said Nicky Vakaloudis, CEO of the SOJO Helping Hands Foundation.

“Our team is eager to share knowledge and inspire the next generation of eco-conscious leaders,” she said.
