City Power urges customers to settle debt during collection drive
The utility says it aims to work with residents and businesses while reducing electricity debt and ensuring supply stability.
City Power (CP) did a revenue collection drive in La Rochelle, Rosettenville, Mondeor, and City Deep on December 11.
The drive focused on defaulting homes, businesses, and factories and aimed to ensure timely payments and reduce debt.
Many defaulters settled their accounts before or during the visit, or established payment plans with CP, ensuring uninterrupted electricity while reducing debt.
“Our goal is to work with our customers and support them in settling their accounts,” said CP spokesperson Isaac Mangena.
The drive demonstrated CP’s efforts to address debt and maintain a stable electricity supply.
The CoJ introduced phase 4 of its Debt Relief Programme, offering a 50% municipal debt write-off and 100% interest and fee waivers to eligible customers.
