Hettie Pretorius is looking forward to her 97th birthday later this year.

Last year together with the residents and staff of DEOPR Caring and Frail Facility celebrated her 96th birthday on November 11.

The CEO of DEOPR, Hennie Els, said they are proud of having Tannie Hettie at this age; she is still healthy and a real example of what active ageing can do to a person.

“She walks where she wants to be and attends all functions and church services with a passion. DEOPR and the community at large wish Tannie Hette a happy birthday, and may she be blessed with good health in the years to come. I also want to thank Miss Johanna Coetzer and all the staff who assisted in making this a special day,” he said.

On July 28, 2022, Hettie celebrated her late husband’s 96th birthday. Tiny sadly passed away on March 11, 2023, due to ill health. They were married for 72 years.
