NPO helps learners and parents get their identity documents

Empowering communities: Pomeroy Community Development helps learners at Diversity High School.

Pomeroy Community Development joined forces with the Department of Home Affairs on January 15 for a day of impactful community service at Diversity High School.

From 08:00 to just before 17:00, they assisted learners and their parents in obtaining their identity documents.

Many parents were thankful for the hands-on support. While the in-person assistance was well-received, some parents noted that the online application process could be complicated, highlighting the importance of more pop-up events in the future.

Pomeroy Community Development NPO operations manager Ishmael Mukwevho said, “We are grateful to Diversity High School for their support and collaboration, which played a crucial role in making this initiative possible. This event is an example of how community-driven efforts can make essential services more accessible and inclusive.”
