Anelka ross named Dinwiddie Primary tennis sportsman of the year
Since starting Grade Three in 2020 at Dinwiddie Primary School, Anelka Ross has excelled on the tennis court and consistently achieved top academic honours.
Training at the Team Harrison Tennis Academy, Anelka was named the Dinwiddie Primary School tennis sportsman in 2023 and 2024, earning the tennis trophy each time.
This year, as a Grade Seven deputy head boy, Anelka stands out as the only learner awarded for academic excellence – a distinction he has maintained consistently from grades four through seven.
The school’s newsletter highlighted his remarkable achievement: “This award is awarded only to learners who have managed to maintain academic excellence each year from grades four to seven. Sometimes, a learner fails to achieve academic excellence in one grade and does not qualify for this award. Anelka is the only learner in 2024 who managed to maintain very high standards from grades four to seven. Well done to Anelka Ross.
“Anelka’s journey is a testament to how dedication in sports can significantly enhance academic excellence, guided by his reverence of God, the source of wisdom and unwavering support from his family.”
Other achievers at the Team Harrison Tennis Academy at Bracken Tennis Club:

Teegan Anderson: most improved, Kenton Primary;

Anelka Ross: tennis player of the year and best achievements, Dinwiddie Primary; and Tracey Anthoney: tennis player of the year and achievements, Hoërskool Dinamika.
