Mondeor High comes second at the basketball tournament

Friendships and social cohesion are the priorities for this tournament.

Horizon International High School hosted and won their annual basketball tournament for surrounding high schools on March 1 at the Portuguese Hall, Turffontein.

The high schools that played each other included John Orr, Sir Johan Adamson, Mondeor, Nationwide, Forest and Nazamiye.

The organiser, Adam Mbele, said the purpose of this tournament was to create friendships and social coherence. Horizon International High School thanks and congratulates all the participants.

“Congratulations to Horizon International High School for winning the 2025 tournament after defeating Mondeor High School in an entertaining final with 16-12. Also, congratulations to John Orr High School for winning bronze after defeating Sir John Adamson High in a bronze medal game by 18-11,” he said.

Mbele also mentioned a primary schools’ soccer tournament in May where over 30 schools will participate.
