Gauteng Boxing Championships: Ethan’s dominant performance

South African Boxing Championships to take place in June.

The Gauteng Championships took place at the Bert Collins Boxing Club in Springs from May 14 to 18.

Ethan Peters (17), from Bellavista in Joburg south was once again a talent to watch.

He showcased exceptional skill and determination in the final of the Super Heavyweight Division (92kg+), facing off against Martin Magavha from Hugenote Boxing Club.

Magavha employed a tactic of ‘smothering’ Ethan’s attacks by holding on whenever possible. However, Ethan’s relentless pressure and powerful punches slowly wore him down.

In the first and second rounds, Magavha received two standing eight counts, but eventually, Ethan’s striking pressure paid off.

Ethan’s dominance became evident in the third round, and he secured a victory through a technical knockout (TKO).

This impressive win marks a significant milestone in Ethan’s boxing career. He will now represent the province of Gauteng at the South African Championships.

With the South African Championships set to take place at the beginning of June, the venue for which will be announced soon, Ethan is gearing up for his next challenge. However, financial support is desperately needed to ensure his participation in the Nationals.
