Alberton students shine at ITFSA Taekwondo National Championships

Two Alberton Taekwon-Do students achieved great results at the recent ITFSA 2025 National Championships, hosted at Weltmeyer Farm.

Over 200 competitors from across South Africa, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe attended the tournament.

Bul-Pae Taekwon-Do Academy, under the instruction of sabum Michelle Rahl, and Pyeong-On Taekwon-Do Centre, under the instruction of sabum Ross Hislop, are proud of the results of their fighters.

The 30 competitors from Bul-Pae Taekwon-Do Academy clinched 13 bronze, 15 silver, and 24 gold medals.

Maddison Clifton and Harley de Witt also received two master awards. Clifton was the overall best junior female at the tournament. She received a silver for patterns, a silver for sparring, and a gold for team patterns.

De Witt was the overall best Leopard female at the tournament with a gold for patterns, a gold for sparring, and a gold for team patterns.

With 14 competitors, Pyeong-On Taekwon-Do Centre received 15 gold, six silver, and two bronze medals.

The dojang also boasts two masters awards. Bosabum-nim Cara Hislop was the overall best competitor, senior female, with gold in sparring and silver in patterns.

Bosabum-nim Clayton Stone received a masters award for overall best junior male competitor, with gold in patterns, gold for power breaking, and gold for special techniques.

Stone is currently representing South Africa at the Inclusive World Championships for Taekwon-Do in Italy.
