Tayla Fisher (15) shines with back-to-back wins in major Johannesburg runs

Marist Brothers High Grade 10 student dominated the Randburg Harriers and Gerald Fox races, beating thousands of competitors in Discovery Run Series events.

Tayla Fisher, a 15-year-old Grade 10 student from Marist Brothers High, is making a name for herself in the running world with impressive performances in the Discovery Run Series.

The talented young athlete recently won the Randburg Harriers race in Randburg. Just a week earlier, on July 13, she also dominated the Gerald Fox Race at the Johannesburg Zoo, finishing with a remarkable time of 38 minutes.

What makes Tayla’s achievements even more impressive is the level of competition. Both races attracted over 7 000 participants, and the Discovery Run Series is open to all runners, regardless of age or experience.

As a Grade 10 learner, Tayla’s early success is a testament to her hard work, dedication and natural talent. Her strong showings at both races have earned her recognition, and many are eager to see what the future holds for this promising young athlete.
