Soweto Athletics Clubs ready to host 30th Soweto Marathon

The 30th edition of the Soweto Marathon, dubbed ‘The People’s Race’, will happen at the Nasrec Stadium in Johannesburg on November 30.

Entries are open, with thousands already registered for this iconic event.

The marathon has three categories:

• Standard marathon (42.2 km): Starts at 05:30;

• Half-marathon (21.1 km): Starts at 06:30;

• 10km run: Starts at 07:30.

Entry fees are unchanged from 2023:

• Marathon: R380;

• Half-marathon: R300;

• 10km: R280.

The route showcases eight significant heritage sites, including Vilakazi Street, the Hector Pieterson Memorial and the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
