Malajika pummels Saludar in four-round thrashing
Regents Park boxing star marches towards glory with dominant win.
Rising SA boxing star Charlton ‘Baby Pain’ Malajika of Regents Park was back in the ring at Emperors Palace on October 4.
Malajika fought Froilan Saludar, who is from the Philippines, in an international bantamweight fight which was scheduled for eight rounds on the undercard of the Destiny’s Decree Box and Dine tournament.
In a stunning display of power and precision, Malajika (10-0) put on a show, stopping veteran Saludar (30-7-3) via technical knockout (TKO) in the fourth round.

The Johannesburg bantamweight prospect was unfazed by Saludar’s experience, using relentless pressure to wear down the Filipino fighter.
Malajika’s performance was his best to date, showcasing a devastating power game that left Saludar reeling.
In the fourth round, he trapped Saludar in the corner of the ring, landing several heavy shots to the head.
Saludar’s response was underwhelming, and a series of right hands prompted the referee to wave off the fight.
“’This is the product of hard work and dedication. I trained hard and believed in my skills. I faced a great and tough opponent. I want to thank my coaches, family and all those who supported me,” said Malijika.
With this dominant win, Malajika continues his ascent, following in the footsteps of his brother Ricardo, a former world champion.
The 23-year-old is defiant, dominant, and determined to claim a world title of his own.
