WATCH: Summer Cup brings top horse racing to Turffontein

High stakes horse racing ended with upset.

The 2025 Summer Cup horse race took place at the Turffontein Racecourse in Joburg south on November 29.

The Joburg south community came out in their number to attend one of the most exciting races of the season.

Attendees were dressed to impress, and with the Johannesburg cityscape in the background, the perfect atmosphere for a day of top-quality horse racing was created.

The race lived up to its billing as Mocha Blend, a four-year-old filly trained by Frank Robinson, pulled off a stunning upset to take the coveted trophy. Ridden by jockey Tristan Godden, Mocha Blend defied expectations to cross the line with half a length in hand.
