Get on over to the People's Theatre for the stage adaptation of Disney's award-winning musical Pinocchio.

From May 19 to August 10, the theatre will play host to the classic story. It is told from the perspective of toymaker Geppetto and follows the adventures of the little wooden puppet, magically brought to life by the Blue Fairy.

Pinocchio is known for having a short nose that becomes longer when he lies. Made to be a wooden puppet, Pinocchio has always dreamed of being a real boy.

The Blue Fairy informs him that he can only become real if he proves himself to be “brave, truthful, and unselfish”. Will he be brought to life?

Pinocchio’s efforts to become a real boy involve encounters with a host of unsavoury characters. Join the Blue Fairy, Jiminy Cricket, puppet master Stromboli and a lively cast of other eccentrics as Geppetto journeys beyond the toy shop to discover the meaning of family.

My Son Pinocchio Jnr is a dynamic and magical mix of heartwarming fairytale and action-packed adventure.

The production is set to a soundtrack of popular songs, including When You Wish Upon A Star and I’ve Got No Strings, with a host of new tunes by Oscar and Grammy-award winner Stephen Schwartz.

Children will be inspired, enchanted and challenged by the power of theatre when this old favourite comes to life on stage, thanks to its elaborate sets, costumes, good sound, lighting and professional actors.
