After months of preparation and hard work, the actors, singers and dancers of Crawford College Lonehill performed their rendition of Sister Act for members of the community during a dress rehearsal.
Residents from a number of nearby old-age homes including the Senior Citizens Coffee Club of Lonehill, Highbrook Retirement Village, Riverside Manor Retirement Village and Merrow Downs were invited to the final dress rehearsal on the morning of 15 May. The guests were invited at no charge to enjoy the show before it was available to paying audiences from 16 May onward.

The play tells the story of lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier, who witnesses her boyfriend Curtis commit a murder and so has to go into hiding at a Catholic nun’s convent for her own safety until she can testify in court. While there, Deloris at first struggles to adapt to convent life, but grows close to the other nuns and manages to turn the church’s fledgeling choir into a national success.
The show will run at Crawford College Lonehill from the 16 until 18 May.
