Cable thieves nabbed

Mini bus busted with stolen cables.

The Germiston SAPS arrested five men and women in possession of stolen property in Germiston recently.

WO André de Jager, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS, told the GCN that the men and women between the ages of 25 and 35 were stopped by Germiston SAPS officers on Linton Jones Street.

“The members found bags and rolls of cables inside the mini bus,” said de Jager.

He also said that the suspects then handed over receipts to the officers, stating that the cables were purchased from a dealer in Johannesburg.

“A Telkom representative identified the white cables as their property,” added de Jager.

He also said that other companies were asked to identify the rest of the cables found.
