All primary school pupils are invited to show their support for the welfare of animals by entering the Animal Anti-Cruelty League’s (AACL) 19th annual primary school poster competition.
The theme this year is “Animals can count on me”.
To enter, pupils have to create posters depicting ways in which people can show compassion and kindness to animals, and also how people can care for animals and contribute to improving the lives of animals.
The posters submitted should contain not only a well-designed picture depicting how people are kind to animals, but also a slogan, title or catch-phrase that makes the overall message clear to the public.
Remember a good poster stands out, is bold, eye-catching and grabs the public’s attention.
Children should be as creative as possible and draw or paint colourful and original posters related to the theme “Animals can count on me”.
The posters can be done in any medium (for example, paint, pastel, crayon, ink, etc.).
The posters should be done on either A2 or A3 sized paper and pupils can be entered in one of the four categories:
- Category One: Grades One and Two
- Category Two: Grades Three, Four and Five
- Category Three: Grades Six and Seven
- Category Four: Special Needs Schools (no grades)
Please ensure that each entry is clearly marked with:
- Pupil’s name and surname
- Entry category
- Grade and age
- Their school’s name and contact details.
Pupils can send in as many entries as they wish.
Remember that each entry will cost R10, which will act as a small contribution to help the AACL to continue caring for and protecting animals in need.
Please note that no cash will be accepted for the entries, only bank deposits or electronic transfers are acceptable forms of payment.
Please send or deliver your poster(s) to:
