The teachers and principal Zoe Bolton of Leeuwpoort Primary School enjoy refreshments with the team from Swasap and discuss more ways to improve the school.
The principal, teachers and students of Leeuwpoort Primary School in Driehoek, were thrilled with the recent donations made by Swasap, a Black Equity Empowerment (BEE) engineering company is based in Germiston.
Swasap recently donated a number of things needed by the school, as well as some fun items for both the teachers and students.
The donations included; a mobile library, photocopier, photostat paper, toner, books, stationery, soccer kits, party packs for the pupils to enjoy after school and refreshments for the teachers.
Leeuwpoort Primary School is one of several schools that do not expect their students to pay school fees, as many of its families cannot afford to pay school fees.
The school’s only request to the pupils are that they have a great attendance record and take their school work and the opportunity to learn seriously, as there are many children in the country who are not afforded the same chance.
This focus on the importance of education appealed to Swasap, and the company decided to reach out and help the school with the recent donations.
The company manufactures and supplies railway axles for railway administrations, rolling stock builders and refurbishment workshops worldwide.
Swasap sales director and shareholder, Welcome Ngeju, financial director Jeanette Sierra and BBBEE coordinator and supplier developer, Terri Noble, were on hand to present the donated items to the school, taking a moment to tell the pupils what the company does and how important a good education is.
Later they enjoyed refreshments with the teachers and took the opportunity to ask them how else the school can be improved.
