Car recovered in less than an hour

Car recovered within an hour by EMPD officers.

A white Ford Laser, parked in the Boksburg CBD, was stolen at 2.30pm last Wednesday afternoon and recovered, in Katlehong, within an hour.

Members of the EMPD Community Liaison Unit patrolling in Katlehong stopped the driver of a suspicious-looking Ford, in Ngema section, on Masakhane Road.

Before questions were asked, the nervous 37-year old male driver confessed to stealing the vehicle in Boksburg, 30 minutes earlier.

Police recovered a flat screwdriver in the ignition, used to open and to start the vehicle.

A case of possession of a stolen motor vehicle was registered against the suspect at the Katlehong North Police Station, and he is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court, soon.
